Let’s Have A Volunteering Activity in the Golden Autumn - PVH Volunteering Activity Successfully Held in Jiashan
In the golden autumn, the sun shines all over the earth, reflecting the fallen leaves of different colors, bringing unique thoughts of autumn. In this beautiful season, the lovely students of Jiashan Lize Primary School welcomed the PVH volunteers, listened to the volunteers share useful environmental protection knowledge, learned practical computer course, and proactively participated in creative environmental protection handicraft class. Now, let's take a look back at the colorful volunteering activity together.
On the afternoon of November 8th, the first session was the award ceremony for the winners from Jiashan Lize Primary School who joined the 5th Netspring Digital Art Competition. PVH leader presented certificates and gifts to the students who won the Outstanding Work Award and the Finalist, Bronze and Silver Awards respectively. Due to the distance reason, the award-winning students were not able to attend the award ceremony in person which was held on October 30 at the Jing'an District Youth and Children’s Library, this time Netspring team specially moved the award stage to the PVH Green IT Classroom set up in the school, the children were very happy that their paintings could be recognized by judges and publics, and received the award certificates under the witness of 10+ PVH volunteers, the atmosphere was lively and joyful. In order to thank the tutors for their hard work, Netspring team also prepared certificates of appreciation to several teachers who have put in tremendous efforts for this competition. The PVH volunteers also prepared sports equipment as gifts for the children, and also offered two boxes of books collected from PVH colleagues, wishing the children do exercise and enjoy reading in their spare time.
During IT class of the day, the teacher from Netspring shared with the students the environmental knowledge of protecting the ocean and freshwater, and encouraged the children to actively raise their hands to share their experiences. Several students from Yunnan-Guizhou rural area, where water shortage is severe, described the situation that the whole family could only use one tank of water for three months, which brought the volunteers on-site into deep contemplation. In the subsequent computer practice class, volunteers patiently guided children on how to use PPT as a tool to create their own posters on water preservation step by step.
And the environmental handicraft class was another scene, it was a stage full of creativity for children. Inspired by volunteers, children used leaves and other materials to create the pictures they wanted - whether it was cute little animals, a big tree blooming with colorful flowers, or a river covered in fallen leaves. Volunteers also applauded for the children's imagination.
“This is my second time participating in volunteer activities at Lize Elementary School as a PVH volunteer this year, and I am very happy to meet the energetic children again. They are especially looking forward to taking IT class to learn useful computer knowledge, and we are also excited to see the growth of the children and willing to help them improve their computer skills and hands-on abilities.”
