Giving Love and Care to “Children from the Stars”
On the morning of August 23rd, with the support of Netspring team, more than 10 volunteers from PVH Dongguan Office came to Dongguan Morning Glory Children's Potential Development, Rehabilitation and Care Center to carry out volunteering activity, interacting with 16 special children such as autism here, and spending a happy and effective companionship time together.
At the beginning of the event, Principal Li from the Morning Glory Children's Potential Development, Rehabilitation and Care Center introduced the original intention and current operation of the school. The school was established in 2015, one of the designated rehabilitation institutions of the Disabled Persons' Federation in Dongguan and has always adhered to the goal of "improving the self-care ability of autistic children, developing their potential, improving their social skills, and ultimately integrating into group learning and life". Then, the volunteer representative of PVH spoke up, expressing their commitment to the public welfare of "PVH Cares" and dedication to positive and meaningful volunteer activities in the community. They also paid sincere respect to the school's philosophy of "enabling children from stars to live independently and with dignity", afterwards, PVH reps presented a batch of educational aids suitable for special needs children's daily use to the school, hoping to help children grow and develop.
Next step, PVH volunteers quickly became familiar with the children through warm up activity of grabbing ocean balls and picture book reading classes, guiding their concentration, reading interest and imagination ability. After that, volunteers and children started a hand painting activity on eco-friendly bags, encouraging the children present to perceive colors and patterns, and freely play their creativity. The children were all very engaged in it with the help of volunteering teachers, and colorful eco-friendly bags were produced out greatly. Interesting games of "fish catching" and “litter porters” were also carried out, where volunteers led children to participate happily, learn to cooperate with each other, and help children improve their physical coordination and motor abilities.
Improving New Skills and Mastering New Expertise - Netspring Community Workshops Successfully Completed
Netspring team launched the "Teaching Skills Improvement Workshop" and the "Learning Workshop for People with Disabilities" projects this year. The former aims to help school teachers further improve their IT skills for daily teaching, and the latter is a collaboration with Sunshine Dream Workshop in Ganquan Street and Robin to engage the people with disabilities the latest AI knowledge and short video production. Both workshops came to a successful conclusion and achieved satisfactory results in September.
Teaching Skills Improvement Workshop
At the end of August, Netspring team implemented one-day workshop for the teachers from UPS Green IT Classroom in Shanghai and Guangzhou respectively, focusing on WPS PowerPoint, Excel and short video production. The workshop adopted the method of combined teaching and practical approach, so that the teachers present can get started after listening. The lecturers helped to answer the questions encountered by the teachers on the spot, which has been warmly welcomed by the teachers and achieved satisfied results. Immediately after the workshop started, the teachers raised various computer problems that they had encountered in the past to the lecture, most of which were focused on the processing of students' score cards, and the insertion and playback of different types of documents in PowerPoint slides. The lecturers also demonstrated on the computer, patiently helped to solve teachers’ questions one by one on the spot, and the interactive atmosphere on site was very lively.
Learning Workshop for People with Disabilities
In early July, supported by Grundfos, Netspring team launched the "Learning Workshop for People with Disabilities" at the Sunshine Dream Workshop in Ganquan Street collaborating with Robin. The project was divided into three sessions. The first session was about AI by a Cisco engineer volunteer, sharing what AI is, AI big models, and application scenarios, using a simple but professional perspective to help people with disabilities better understand the hottest new technologies nowadays.
The second and third session revolved with short video, focusing on how to produce their own short videos with high efficiency, from short video shooting techniques to how to use software for editing. In consideration of the age and physical characteristics of the group participating in the workshop, the lecturer simplified the contents and focused on practical skills and methods, so that the participants could learn quickly to record their wonderful life clips in their daily life in the future, adding fun to their lives. The volunteers from supporting company Grundfos also proactively joined the two video sessions, they listened attentively to the lectures with more than 20 "elder students” on site and provided one-on-one guidance to them when they encountered practical difficulties.
“More than 70 teachers have participated in the Teaching Skills Improvement Workshop respectively in Guangzhou and Shanghai, and more than 50 participants were engaged in three sessions of Learning Workshop for People with Disabilities totally. We are happy to see both projects have achieved significant results. We sincerely hope that all participants could benefit from these workshops - improve new skills and master new expertise, and apply what they have learned in their daily work and life.”

New Green IT Classroom Opens Up New Horizons for Children
On the afternoon of October 17, the inauguration ceremony of Grundfos Green IT Classroom was kicked off and witnessed by more than 40 school teachers and students and more than 10 Grundfos employees. On behalf of the school, Principal Ji first delivered a welcome speech, welcoming the guests’ coming, and highlighted the new Green IT Classroom will level up the school's information education to a higher step. John Markmann, President of Grundfos China, subsequently delivered a speech, saying that the completion of the green IT classroom is a good demonstration of the company's strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, and hoped that children utilize the computers as a useful tool to turn their dreams into reality with the help of teachers. Afterwards, John and Principal Ji handed over the nameplate of the classroom, and the Grundfos volunteers who came to attend the inauguration ceremony also prepared sports equipment as gifts for the students, hoping that the children exercise their physical fitness through various sports activities in their spare time.
One of the volunteering activities is to give IT-related class to the first year of junior middle school. Engineer Luo, a volunteer from Grundfos was full of passion, from introduction of Grundfos is a company that deals with water, to share environmental knowledge about water conservation with the children. The topic of how to make a digital post by using PPT with the theme of water conservation was brought by Jessie, another enthusiastic volunteer of Grundfos, most of the students know nothing about PPT, and they were curious and eager to learn. Grundfos volunteers patiently guided the children to operate step by step, and with the help of volunteer teachers, the children finally created creative posters with their own ideas.
The environmental handicraft class was closely related to the characteristics of the autumn solar term, combining circular economy and leaf sticking artworks. The children carefully used tweezers to pick up the dried leaves and paste them into desired patterns on the white paper, and the volunteers inspired the students to fully play their imagination, and some students even skillfully used marker pens to add drawings next to the pasted leaves. Seeing the students' final imaginative and aesthetic products, the volunteers were amazed by the children's talents.
“Thanks again to Grundfos and the volunteers for their help and care towards our students. This Green IT classroom will benefit over 400 students on campus. The children cherish the opportunity provided by the volunteers for IT and handicraft classes, as they rarely touched such courses in normal times. Therefore, on behalf of the children, I would like to thank the volunteers of Grundfos for enriching children’s course experience.”
