Oct. 2024:Netspring Digital Art Competition 5th Anniversary Exhibition "All Under the Same Sky in the Eyes of Children" As part of the 2024 Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment
On October 30th 2024, at the Shanghai Jing’an District Youth and Children's Library, Netspring celebrated its 5th digital art competition and awards ceremony, with the theme “All Under the Same Sky in the Eyes of Children”. This event took place during the 2024 Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment, an interdisciplinary festival organized annually by the French Embassy in China, which emphasizes the necessity for all of us to collaborate to protect our Earth. Its 2024 theme “All Under the Same Sky” not only reflects mankind and nature connectivity, but also highlights the need to work together for a shared future, reminding us that global environmental challenges know no borders and that we must share and implement solutions together.
The students’ awards ceremony, was attended by Mr. Benjamin DEMIERE, Education Consul of the French Consulate General in Shanghai, representatives from the Jing'an District Youth and Children’s Library and Netspring Green IT Programs, as well as distinguished guests from Virtuos, Forvia and Grundfos, partners who have accompanied Netspring in the mission of environmental-friendly digital inclusion for the underprivileged. Prizes were presented to the award-winning children and our guests could feel the children’s extraordinary creativity showcased in their exhibited artwork and witness the joy of our students’ personal growth. With this exhibition, Netspring wishes to highlight our supported students’ talent, and their digital empowerment.
Founded in 2012, Netspring is dedicated to transform e-waste into digital inclusion to serve students from many migrants or needy schools across the country. Since 2019, Netspring Green IT Programs have been amongst the common good programs supported by the "Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment".
This year, Netspring team received more than 200 excellent artworks in three categories: coding animation, digital and traditional painting. They provide a unique perspective into the children’s environmental awareness and vision. Out of them, 100 outstanding artworks are exhibited in the hope to arouse wide public attention and encourage environmental-friendly behaviors in our daily lives.
“This year marks the 5th anniversary of our competition in the context of the Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment, a milestone which is of great significance to us. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the French Embassy in China, the Consulate General of France in Shanghai, Jing’An District Youth and Children’s Library and our partners Virtuos, Forvia and Grundfos for their strong support, which allowed the students’ great artworks to be displayed to the public.
