On the occasion of the Moon Festival and National Day, Netspring team wishes you a happy holiday!

Autumn is also a harvest season, various activities with our partners are in full swing. In mid-September, Grundfos 2nd Green IT classroom opened in Deyang, Sichuan successfully! In addition, the team of Netspring cooperated with Virtuos to organize volunteer activities and held e-waste recycling drives respectively, actively advocating environmental protection from daily life.

Moreover, we are partner again of the 10th Franco-Chinese Month of the Environment in 2023 and will hold digital art competition on the theme of “My Life in Green” in NETSPRING schools plus a students’ art exhibition to enhance the impact. Please stay tuned for more information.

The Second Grundfos Green IT Classroom Unveiled in Zhongjiang, Deyang
On September 19th, some special guests arrived at Wanfu Town, Zhongjiang County, Deyang City. They were volunteers from Grundfos who help build the Green IT Classroom and this time they came with more gifts for the school students. In order to thank the volunteers from Grundfos and Netspring, the students also put on a talent show.

Grundfos has always been active in corporate social responsibility. Last month, we partnered with Netspring and Beyong the city to bring 10 students from Deyang Mountain in Sichuan Province to Shanghai for a career trip. Today, we work with partners again to equip schools in Zhongjiang, Deyang with laptops. Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful tool to change the world." We believe that every student, no matter where they come from, should have the opportunity toward succeed. With an IT classroom, children have access to more tools to turn their dreams into reality. It's where they can explore, learn and grow.

After the opening ceremony, everyone carried out the unveiling the name plate in front of the IT classroom. Students then had their first computer lesson in the brand-new classroom. They were all very excited because they rarely had the opportunity to use computers before. In the environmental protection class, the students learned more about water saving. Later during handicraft class, the volunteers showed the children how to make hand-made products.

Wanfu Town is in the mountainous area of Sichuan Province, 70 km away from the county, more than 2 hours from Chengdu by car, and there is no high-speed rail. Children usually live in school and barely leave the small town. The computers are now their bridge to communicate with the outside world, which is now possible with the help of the Green IT Classroom.
An immersive experience for your future career

The word career seems distant from children, but it is never too late to start a professional experience. With the support of Grundfos, 10 students from Wanfu Middle School went on a week-long city trip to Shanghai. During this week's trip, the students explored a lot in Shanghai, from the consulate to the wet market, from the streets of Shanghai to the LEGO factory, from Ikea to Studio9 store. Through these explorations, they found more possibilities in life, and saw a broader choice in the future.

“Read ten thousand books, travel ten thousand miles!  This trip to Shanghai city has brought me a lot of insights.  It is a great pleasure to meet a group of excellent, competent and friendly staff and growth companions. Thank you for accompanying us to visit various famous landmarks in Shanghai. The magnificence of the three-piece set, the majesty of the Oriental Pearl, the sweat on our faces in the wet market, the joy we had in New York University Shanghai and the infinite knowledge of Fudan University are perfect interpretations of the truth of endless learning.”

On the same day, we also asked the children who went to the shanghai trip for what they had learned. Some of them said, "Grundfos has given us better conditions, and we will definitely study more seriously than before, hoping to get out of the mountains."

“My Life in Green” - launch of Student Digital Art Competition

This year, the theme of the Franco-Chinese month of the Environment is "Living Differently". Milan Kundera has a novel called "Life Elsewhere". "Living Differently" can be interpreted as "the expectation of another different life". Different from tall buildings and car exhaust, our expectation for "different life" is a green home, is "My life in Green". Netspring team encourages students to create around life in green and environmental issues. The purpose of the activity is to stimulate children's imagination and creativity, and cultivate their ability to think independently, understand the world and solve problems.

In order to further promote the activity, Netspring team organized a volunteer activity in collaboration with Virtuos who sent volunteers to visit a migrant school in Xi’an on September 15, 2023. During this visit, the volunteers closely interacted with the fourth and fifth grade students, not only guided them with digital paintings, but also did handicraft, and shared a happy activity moment with the children.

Did you know? Knowledge about Garbage Sorting

In order to achieve a "life in green", garbage sorting is essential. The volunteers shared the knowledge about garbage sorting during handicraft class. Garbage is usually sent to a storage yard and then to landfills. Landfill not only wastes a lot of land resources (1t of waste needs an area of about 3m3), but also the seepage from landfill would easily pollute the surrounding soil and water. The cost of landfill is very high, up to 200 to 300 yuan per ton.

We often ignore garbage sorting in our daily life, but it is indispensable and is closely related to environment protection. The children then made some wooden trash cans contribute to garbage sorting in their own way.

E-waste Recycling Drive, Virtuos is in Action

With the rapid development of science and technology, the increasing amount of e-waste poses a great threat to the environment and human health. However, in fact, e-waste contains a wealth of recyclable substances, including precious metals, plastics, glass and other renewable materials. Therefore, garbage sorting and recycling are of great significance for environmental protection and resource regeneration.

This summer, Virtuos Chengdu and Xi’an Studio both held an e-waste recycling drive, calling on studio employees to recycle electronic products that are no longer in use, and donate these products to environmental factories for eco-dismantling. On June 13, Virtuos Chengdu studio volunteers went to Changhong Green Environmental Science and Technology Co., LTD., On August 18, a group of volunteers from Xi’an studio went to Shaanxi Anxin CRT Recycling Processing Application Co., LTD., to prepare the electronic waste items donated by employees and a batch of waste computer hosts eliminated from the production line for environmental protection treatment here, and to visit and learn the recycling and dismantling of electronic waste.

This event is part of the long-term partnership between Virtuos and Netspring Green IT Classroom Programs, which aims to protect the environment and improve educational resources in underprivileged areas. Creating greater value for the society has always been the mission and value advocated and practiced by Virtuos, hoping to create more positive energy for the society.

We are especially grateful to Virtuos for its strong support to Netspring over the years! We will keep our mission in mind, continue to pass on the concept of green environmental protection, promote the activities of protecting our planet and strive to create a better world!
